Myer is my store

I went to the city today to meet up with my husband for lunch and then go to Myer.

Myer is having a I <3 NY 3 week themed special. They are selling American food. YAY!!! Which means USA foods are at Myer for the 3 weeks. Now being an American so far from home and missing my beloved American foods I had to go see what they had to offer.

Here is the selection

I know it doesn't look like much but being so far away from everything that your use to it means everything. The lady working the tables was very pleasant and told me they are getting more shipments every day. Well of course i'm not going to make the hour long journey into the city to see what new shipments they have. However my wonderful husband works just 10 minutes from there and will have a peek for me later on in the week.

I did walk out with some goodies in hand. (I actually bought 2 boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal but one box is being held hostage by my husband at his desk at work. He tells me I always go through my care packages so quickly that once they're all gone I whine until I get another.)

Yes I did pay 32 dollars for 2 boxes of cereal, chex mix, and a reese's bar. Go ahead think i'm insane but once you live abroad you'll understand.

5 <3 me:

We spent $45 for $15 worth of American groceries. Half of which I wouldn't actually buy in America but figured I should get while I can.

Melyssa's brother lives somewhere in Melbourne and is coming out for the birth, you better bet he's bringing a bag of American foods with him... he just doesn't know it yet. :)

Yes I did spend $14 (of my $48 bill) on a humongous box of Lucky Charms-- even though I never would have bought them ever back in the U.S.
Also got Jiffy Corn Mix (the best bargain at 1.40/box), Jello instant pudding, and numerous other things.
